Automatic Anki
Making cards by hand or typing them into Anki can take hours a day. Automatic Anki writes Basic and Cloze cards from every USMLE question you study, so your time goes to review instead of data entry.
USMLE Step 1 · Step 2 CK · Step 3
Automatic Anki is a StepGPT feature that generates Anki-ready Basic and Cloze flashcards from each USMLE question you add. You can edit, tag, regenerate, or dismiss suggested cards, collect them across questions, export a combined .apkg deck, send them to desktop Anki with AnkiConnect, or save them to Spaci decks.
Anki works because of spaced repetition, but only once the cards exist. At three cards per question and two to three minutes per card, a 40-question day can mean four to six hours of card-making. By the time the deck is built, there’s barely time to review it.
Some tools link questions to cards in an existing premade deck. Automatic Anki writes new cards from the question you’re studying, so your deck grows from the questions you actually worked through.
Cards live alongside the rest of your learning: highlights, notes, starred explanations, and folders. When a card comes back in review and you’ve forgotten why it mattered, the full question analysis is a search away in your history.
